A Christian magazine reported a recent incident in New Jersey, the article is titled, “Deadly Fundamentalist Christians.”

‘hostage situation’ as part of a disaster response test. The problem: the
terrorists were identified as a group of killer Christians. Burlington
Township High School officials declared that the simulated gunmen were
(quote) ‘members of a right-wing fundamentalist group called the ‘New
Crusaders’ who don’t believe in separation of church and state…the
purported Christian gunmen ‘went to the school seeking justice because
the daughter of one had been expelled for praying before class.’” (more…)

A grandmother gave generous Christmas checks to her several grandchildren. But the kids never, ever sent ‘thank you’ notes, even though their parents scolded them and reminded them each year of how important it was. Then one year it all changed. Grandma sent a $100.00 Christmas check to each child and the next day every one of them came over to her house to thank her in person. (more…)

A woman who lives in Atlanta had been in the church her whole life and was feeling a bit isolated from non-believers. She became convinced that her life was too cloistered. She decided to go to school, to get a degree in counseling; she enrolled in a local secular university.

In one of her classes, the students were given this assignment:
“Go and hang out with people that you are most ‘afraid’ of.” (more…)

When was the last time you sat down with pen and paper to write a handwritten letter?  
   
A mother named Barbara from Bellevue, Washington, writes: 
 
    “Snail mail, I decided, is definitely dead. Before I left on a trip to Alaska, I  
    promised my five-year-old grandson, ‘I’ll write you a letter when I get there.’ 
 
    “Okay,” he said.  “I’d like an A.” 
 
Some observed: 
 
    “E-mails are letters, after all, more lasting than phone calls, even if many

This is a true story, told by a driver. 
 
      “I was sitting at a stop light this morning.  The lady in front of me was  
       going through papers on the front seat of her car. And when the light  
       turned green, she did not obey it.  A green light is a commandment, not a  
       suggestion. When the light turned red and she still had not moved, I  
       began, with my windows up, screaming epitaphs and beating on my

Can you identify these characters?  Of course, they are Todo, Dorothy and her friends, from the timeless film, “The Wizard of Oz.” 

One of the most unforgettable scenes is when the troop finally reaches the Emerald City.  Inside the castle, there is a giant screen, smoke and lightning, and a voice that thunders, “Dorothy!; When Todo pulls back a curtain, there is a little man cranking a giant machine, speaking into a microphone.
